Originally a church in Lesko St. Nicholas is considered the oldest temple in the Polish Bieszczady Mountains. His edifice was erected around 1539 on a Latin cross plan, with two arms adjacent and a high tower. Represents the late Gothic style. Next to the church is a late baroque tower with a bell tower designed by Gottfryd Hofman, an architect stationed in Lesko. From the sixteenth century, among others, storeys outside the tower up to the roof, a shield carved in stone above the entrance from the outside with the coat of arms of Kmitów, late Gothic vaults in chapels and a Renaissance stone portal located at the entrance to the sacristy. The founder of the church was Piotr Kmita, the Grand Marshal, Sandomierz castellan, Sandomierz and Kraków voivode, city owner and builder of the Sobień castle in Lesko. The church consecration ceremony took place on the first Sunday after All Saints in 1539.
