The mound is located in the Sanok City Park Adam Mickiewicz, on the top of Góra Parkowa, measuring 364 m a.s.l. Construction of the mound began in 1898, on the hundredth anniversary of the birth of Bard Adam Mickiewicz. Originally it was small, but at the initiative of junior high school teacher Józef Tomasik, it was enlarged with the active participation of school students at the beginning of the 20th century. Work on the form of the mound lasted from September 27, 1905 to 1910. In the first half of the 20th century a triangulation tower was placed on the top of the mound. The current height of the mound is 9 m and the diameter of its base is 35 m. On its top there is a concrete pedestal surrounded by a fence with the inscription "Adam Mickiewicz 1798-1898"
