The monument commemorates the fight of Polish soldiers during the September 1939 campaign. The company of machine guns of the 6th Podhale Rifle Regiment from Sambor, led by Reserve Lieutenant Marian Zaremba as it was supposed to delay the enemy's attack. The monument presents the image of a tattered Polish banner. A commemorative plaque was placed on it with the inscription: "Place of heroic struggle and death of Polish soldiers, who under the command of Second Lieutenant Marian Zaremba on September 10, 1939, they fought the overwhelming forces of Nazi invaders. " In addition, the sculpture placed on the monument depicts the head of the suffering Christ. Designed and made by the artist Stanisław Bryndal from Ołpin.
