The village was founded in 1435 - at that time it consisted of several independent settlements. The original name was Rytarowce. Around the 16th century, the settlements merged into one. The first owner of the village was the Czekszyków family. Then, until 1928, the Tarnawiecki family. From the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries to 1924, Stanisława Tarnawiecka owned the estate.
