The forest reserve was established in 2000. It covers an area of 98.68 ha and is located at the southeastern edge of the Słonne Mountains. Administratively, the reserve area is located in the village of Wańkowa, Olszanica commune, Bieszczady poviat. The reserve's forests are part of the Wańkowa Forest District and the Brzegi Dolne Forest District. The reserve protects natural plant communities. There are 15 species of protected plants such as: Moldavian monkshoe, forest parakeet, Goldenhead lily, forest snake, white poplite, green hellebore, spotted pictures, staphylococcus and bear garlic.
