The park area is located in the municipalities of Lesko, Olszanica, Sanok, Tyrawa Wołoska and Ustrzyki Dolne in the Bieszczady, Lesko and Sanok poviats. It was created in 1992. The park's vegetation consists of about 900 species of vascular plants, which is distinguished by a significant degree of naturalness. Over 73% of its area is covered by forests, mainly natural Carpathian beech forests. There are many tourist routes running through the Park, running through 9 reserves.
