Masonry - a wooden castle, located on a steep hill, in the fourteenth century by Casimir the Great. Earlier there was probably a castle here, but today there is no trace of it. In the large courtyard there were once numerous farm and residential buildings and a brick tower, which was a watchtower and a prison. After 1520, the castle underwent the first reconstruction during the reign of Sigismund the Old. Until now, the wooden fortifications have been changed into a wall and the wooden gate into a stone one. From the San side, the assumption was enlarged by a magnificent residential house, long, basement and storey. This building has survived to this day with minor changes. In the 18th century, the building fell into ruin. It was partially demolished by the Austrian authorities. After this incident, a Renaissance building and parts of the perimeter walls and the former moat have survived to this day, a deep well forged in the rock in the courtyard. Currently, the castle building houses the Sanok Historical Museum, organizing permanent, temporary and publishing exhibitions.
