18.03.2017 The Museum of Folk Architecture in Sanok is the largest open-air museum in Poland in terms of the number of buildings. It belongs to the most beautiful outdoor museums in Europe. It is located on the right bank of the San River, at the foot of the Sanocko-Turczańskie Mountains. It covers an area of ​​about 38 ha. In its assumption, Skansen reflects the layouts of village development and farmsteads from the period from the 17th to the 20th century. There are over 100 wooden buildings here. Visitors are also offered sacred buildings (a 17th-century church, two 18th-century Boyko churches, a Lemko church from the early 19th century and several chapels, public buildings (village school and inn) and industrial facilities such as windmills or forges. All buildings are fully equipped, tourists can also admire the permanent exhibition of icon paintings and temporary exhibitions. The Monastery of the Discalced Carmelites in Zagórze is monumental ruins of the church and monastery from the 18th century. It is located in the bend of the Osława River and is one of the few fortified monasteries in the country. It has been declared a historic building since 1967. It is not difficult to find here. The ruins are clearly visible even from far away and leads to them access path. The hill is surrounded on three sides by a river, and the entrance is made possible by a semi-circular gate in the wall. Połonina Caryńska is a mountain massif located between the valleys of Prowcza and Wołosate. It consists of four climaxes. After entering the Polonina, tourists can see the picturesque, vast landscape with the well-visible massif of Wielka Rawka and Połonina Wetlińska. You can travel on specially prepared tourist routes (Main Beskids Trail, Przysłup Caryński and Ustrzyki Górne). It is also worth seeing beautiful lakes, which are not lacking in the commune of Solina. It is located on the outskirts of Lake Myczkowieckie and Lake Solina. It is located in large part within the San Valley Landscape Park and the Ciśniańsko-Wetliński Landscape Park. There are many attractions for visitors. You can go to the Lake Solina, Myczkowieckie or go to the forest rich in flora and fauna. In the distance you can see the highest parts of the Bieszczady mountains. The lack of industrial facilities in the area makes tourists feel rested, relaxed and "charged" with energy. Also in winter here it is very interesting. Snow stays here almost 120 days a year, you can use the ski lift at the Military Recreation Complex "Jawor" in Solon, Polańczyk, Bukowiec and Weremień. Professional skiing schools are also run.
