A wooden Orthodox church, which in its history served Greek Catholics and Roman Catholics, was built in 1801–1803. It belongs to the parish of the Protection of the Mother of God in Komańcza, in the Sanok deanery of the Przemyśl-Nowy Sącz diocese of the Polish Autocephalous Orthodox Church. Located on the Podkarpackie Wooden Architecture Trail. Inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. The church in Turzańsk is a Lemko church, three-part, with three towers crowned with helmets over the women's gallery, nave and presbytery, and two side signatures with helmets. The belfry is a free-standing wooden structure on a quadrangle plan with a bell-shaped roof. The polychrome of the interior of the church in Turzańsk is the work of Josyf Bukowczyk from 1898 and is a unique example of incorporating elements of folk tradition into religious painting. The set of wall paintings from 1925 in the church in Szczawno was made by well-known, academically trained painters - Ukrainian officers and soldiers (Polish allies in the war with the Bolsheviks) who, after signing the Treaty of Riga and the defeat of the Ukrainian army in the battle of Bazar in 1921, unable to return to the homeland of settlements in Poland, establishing the "Widrodżennia" (Revival) Painting Society in Przemyśl, working for the needs of churches and churches in our country.
