The forest reserve was founded in 2000. It is located on the north-eastern slope of the Chwaniowa range and covers an area of 182.13 ha. Administratively, its area is located on the land of the village of Trzcianiec of the Bieszczady poviat. Includes the land of the Bircza Forest District, Trzcianiec Forest District. The purpose of protecting this reserve is to preserve the rich Carpathian beech community found in the Rutland form here. The most valuable specimens of the flora are: Goldenhead lily, Widłak wronce, Thompson, White popliteus and Listera ovate. On the other hand, the undergrowth includes: the mountain abacus, the monthly magazine, the swallowtail bark beetle, comfrey and pink huskworm. The forest stand of the reserve consists mainly of two species: fir and beech. The area's afforestation is 97% of the total area.
