The subject of protection of the reserve are two mountain lakes formed by significant landslides on the slopes of Chryszczata Mountain. The name of the reserve refers directly to the events of 1907, when the lakes were created. The reserve is located on the western slopes of Chryszczata (998 m a.s.l.), covers an area of 2.2 ha. The Main Beskids Trail runs through the reserve: Komańcza - Prełuki - Duszatyn - Zwiezło - Chryszczata nature reserve.
