Smerek is an extension of the West ridge of Połonina Wetlińska. The border is the Mieczysław Orłowicz Pass (1075 m a.s.l.), through which it borders with Szary Berd. To the west, the ridge rests on the Wetlina valley and the Kindrat stream. To the north, a long ridge deviates from the top, which, among others, through the High Berdo, Siwarna, Połoma and Tołsta stretches all the way to the Solina Lake, cutting between the San and Solinka valleys. The keystone located slightly to the east sends Magurka's ridge descending northeast to the San valley, while the culminating arm in Stropa (1016 m a.s.l.) goes off from the south. The north-west slopes are drained by Kindrat, a tributary of Wetlina originating west of the Smerek's summit, while the south-west is wetlina and its small tributaries flowing from the slopes. The sources of the Hulski and Berdo streams are located on the northeastern slope. On some maps, however, it is described as High.
