The Greek Catholic church was built in 1829 from the foundation of the owner of the village of Baligród, Onufry Karsznicki. During the reconstruction in 1928, the turret ended with a spherical helmet was finished with a wooden dome. From 1949, the church was used for storage purposes. At that time all the temple's equipment was destroyed. Renovation of the roof began in 1990, but was interrupted due to lack of funds. In 2001, the decay of the dome's structure caused its gradual collapse into the interior. In 2003, Fr. Miron Michajłyszyn, a Greek Catholic chaplain of the Polish Army, proposed the idea of arranging a Greek Catholic field ordinate in the Baligród church. On August 15 this year, the first service was celebrated in the church building. The Baligrodzka church is an orientated, two-part temple. The presbytery is closed semicircularly. Aisle on a rectangular plan, and above it an octagonal dome on a drum. No elements of the original equipment have survived to this day. Only in the collections of the Museum of Folk Architecture in Sanok is the seventeenth-century icon of the Virgin Mary with the Child transferred.
