Address: Średnia Wieś 122 A , Średnia Wieś
The church in Środa Wieś is unique because it was the only church in the Bieszczady from the beginning that belonged to the western rite. It was built in the second half of the 16th century, originally as a court chapel belonging to the Bal family, who were the owners of Middle Village. The first mention of it comes from 1607. In 1727, Katarzyna of the Oraczewski Balowa funded beautiful late Baroque altars made by Krosno woodcarvers and the polychrome of the inner walls of the temple. In the main altar of the church there is a painting from the 18th century of the Virgin Mary with the Child giving her an apple. In the left altar there is a picture of St. Stanislaus bishop, and on the right side St. Catherine. The historic part of the church is decorated with a presbytery and one rectangular nave. The ceiling features illusionist plafonds characteristic of Baroque buildings.
