Olszanica

Go to map

In 1376, Olszanica was, as well as Myczkowce, a private noble village and was the property of Oleśki (Olescho). Mentioned in 1436 as a town founded in the Kmitów estate in Wołyń under Wallachian law. The name of the village is of topographic origin, derived from the word alder, alder and meant the area covered with alders. This fact is confirmed by sources: 1441 Olschanycze, 1443 Kmitowie had a defensive court.
