The village is located about 8 km from Sanok, by the road leading to Rzeszów. The village was probably located by prince Jerzy II as a service village of the Sanok stronghold. The first news about the village can be found in the document issued by Casimir the Great of June 25, 1361. At that time, the king gave Jurowce to two brothers from Zboiska Piotr and Paweł, progenitors of the Matiaszowicz family.
